We focus on helping patriots who are challenged with the demands of taking care of aging loved ones...because service to our country should never mean sacrificing care for family.
We honor those who are active duty and in the reserve components within the six branches: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force. As well as the Army National Guard and Air National Guard.
We support patriots who are serving at the state and local level to include: state and highway patrol, and officers and staff of county and local police departments and sheriff offices.
We honor our firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and the staff who support them. These patriots respond to emergencies to protect life, property, and the environment.
Disaster relief work is extremely intense and inherently unpredictable. Disaster relief professionals are deployed in an immediate, fast-paced “response” phase—the critical time directly before, during, or right after a disaster—to save lives, ensure public safety. The disaster environment is chaotic and complex, requiring the full attention of our disaster relief patriots and often takes these patriots away from their homes for long and extended periods.
As an Air Force flight surgeon and critical care air transport team physician lead, Dr. Wendy Tong witnessed firsthand the sudden deployments that leave service members scrambling to arrange care for their dependent loved ones. This perspective became deeply personal when her own father sustained a traumatic brain injury, forcing her to rely on 24-hour nursing care so that she could continue working abroad. Realizing the critical need for senior care among working families with aging parents, Dr. Tong founded the Patriots Care Fund to honor and give back to all who serve our country.
Many service members, firefighters, first responders and law enforcement officers take care of a aging parents and need help to cover for them when they are called to duty. These patriots are often forced to resign or take extended family leave to take care of their family. Furthermore, the parents of fallen heroes can be left without care after their loss. These are some of the everyday stories The Patriots Care Fund hopes to make a difference in.
These core values were inspired by those adopted by our military branches, law enforcement and first responder bodies.
